Day 11: Animal Adventures Part I

Today we got to feel like real Floridians as we took an airboat tour at Boggy Creek Airboats.  We really loved it.  It was the perfect combination of adventure, thrills and peacefulness.  Our guide Jeff was really cool and he knew a lot about all of the local wildlife we got to see.  For instance, did you know that Florida has the second highest Bald Eagle population in the US?  We actually got to see a few of them, along with a ton of other birds, flowers and even wild gators!  Check out the slideshow above to see all of the beautiful pictures.

  1. Great shots! I live in SC and our town is surrounded by the Inter-Coastal waterways, so I get to see treasures like these whenever I can make time to sit, relax, and enjoy the wildlife that surrounds us. I haven’t been on an airboat ride and not a wildlife fanatic, but….this is calling me.

  2. Your photos are wonderful. Good job.
    Love the night light.
    Keep smiling.

  3. Interesting bald eagle fact! My parents were just visiting me this weekend and I live on Tampa Bay. My dad saw what he thought might be a bald eagle, but I commented back that I didn’t think FL had many bald eagles! Boy was I wrong! My dad loves bald eagles–I’ll have to let him know. Hope to see you at some point while you’re here! Do you have any free days/ free time??

  4. what a fun adventure today! Sure missed you this weekend but we’ll see you in just a few days!
