Day 27 – Magic Kingdom

On day 27 we got to do the only thing better than going to the Magic Kingdom… going to the Magic Kingdom with kids.  Kyle’s siblings and nieces all got to experience the fun, and what’s more we all got to OPEN the Magic Kingdom with Mickey on his train.  Yeah… that’s like MORE than a dream come true, and anyone can win the chance to do it!  I couldn’t imagine a happier place on earth than sitting next to my 3 1/2 year old niece on all of the rides and seeing her smile from ear to ear.  It was… for the lack of a better term… magical.

P.S. when you go to Disney, take advantage of their PhotoPass system.  There are hundreds of employees scattered throughout the park with cameras ready to happily take your picture.  When you get home you can see them all online and choose the ones you love the most.  (It’s how we got some of today’s great shots, and shots from American Idol Experience and Surf School)

  1. There are so many ways to describe the whole Disney experience, esp. Magic Kingdom. My top two exciting and MAGICAL. To see the smiles and wonderful expressions of the kids and kids at heart is priceless….teary-eyed with excitement just looking at the video!

  2. I’ve been going to Disney Parks (Anaheim mostly) my whole life, and I always loved going, but I don’t think I ever truly experienced Disney until I went with my own kids. Magical is right.

  3. If you go back to the Magic Kingdom, eat at the California Grill at the contemporary to watch the fireworks. I also highly recommend Jiko for dinner and Boma for breakfast at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, both African restaurants that are delicious.

  4. What cuties!

  5. I took my niece to Disneyland for the first time when she was 5 yrs. old and I had a blast watching her taking everything in. We were there 3 nights and were exhausted every night, but she’s 14 now and still talks about that experience. We went again when she was 11 and this time took my 82 year old mother who had never been there before. My mother even went on several rides with us and smiled and screamed like a kid. I think her favorite part was when Prince Charming stepped out of the parade and came over and gave her a big hug and a kiss. Magical!

  6. Petty video – cutest little girl!

  7. What do you need to do to open the park with Mickey on the train? I have searched the Disney website and have done a google search and I can’t find any information about it.

  8. The PhotoPass is great but comes with a heft price. We tried it on our last visit and the Disney castmembers did get great shots of us, but paying around $15 for 1 5×7 is a lot and there really is no “affordable” option, at least not in my opinion. I ended up buying 5 5×7′s and had a charge of about $60+ on my card. I didn’t check it out in advance. Make sure you really check out the pricing (I’m going from memory) before you commit all your trip’s fabulous pictures to PhotoPass and then can’t afford to get them.

    • The PhotoPass system is great., one of Disney’s better ideas Yes, the prints are a rip-off but if you pre-purchase the CD it’s $99 for the whole lot (we had 151), then you can print them for 12 cents a piece.

Also, you can associate your PhotoPass with most character meals, so you don’t get just that one photo with Cinderella, but all 5 or 6 the photographer snapped.

  9. seriously, i got teary watching the video. all thumbs up for a disney day! gorgeous girls & photos :-)
