After cocktail hour at a fundraiser benefiting the downtown arts district, we headed to the Kres Chop House. Situated in charming downtown Orlando with its fresh flora, deep red walls and cozy atmosphere befitting the trendy stylings of a Thai fusion restaurant, the fare is anything but pretentious. We started with the lobster bisque, a creamy segue between the warm slices of sourdough and our entrees. From the filet minogn to the delicately sauteed red snapper, the meal was a sophisticated installment in our otherwise fancy free weekend.
Favorites at the table were the spinach salad with goat cheese and the tuxedo orzo
. Too full for dessert, (and a real pity too, the meal could’ve had a sincerely posh finish) we cleaned our plates and started out for the SAK Comedy Lab, a short walk through the rain away.
