A few weeks ago we attended an event put on by the Red Chair Project where there was a silent auction to win a day with us on our 67 day trek. The winners were Margot Knight and her son Guy, and they chose to spend day 53 with us!
The day started with Disco Brunch at HUE Restaurant in Thorton Park. When they say disco, they mean it! We munched on entrees like the “Earth Wind and Fire” scramble while listening to hits from Donna Summers. It was the perfect fall day to sit outside, listen to fun music and sip a mimosa. That’s what brunch should be and that’s the way (uh huh uh huh) we LIKE it (yeah I went there). Probably the highlight of the meal for me, aside from the great conversation with
Margot and Guy was the Bourbon Pecan Pie Tower! Ohhhhh my it was incredible. Just looking at it brought on ooos and ahhs! It was the perfect ending to a wonderful brunch. Sure the desserts may have been pretty high in calories, but don’t worry… I will survive. (I’m done I promise).
