The House of Blues has a few of my favorite things…nope not raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens.
They have food and music! And let’s be honest, how cool are whiskers on kittens? We headed to the House of Blues to see Colbie Calliat who recently is one of my favorite artists. But before the show, we were craving some good ole’ Southern cooking.
Tonight was the first time in Orlando that we ordered the same dish: pulled pork with sweet potato fries, otherwise known as delicious and more delicious. Not only was the food good, but the vibe of the restaurant was really cool…like it was a cottage owned by a southern guitar player who likes to paint on the side. Yup, cool.
On to the concert. Oh! First off, if you eat at the House of Blues before the concert, they sometimes have specials were their guests won’t have to wait in line to get inside the music hall (just ask when you arrive). The venue is intimate and themed well for both hippies and hipsters alike. Colbie Calliat had an amazing voice and entertained us through the night. Pre-warning though…they blast the air-conditioning in there so be sure to wear thick socks and a sweater.
